The Regrouping of the Sovereign Sect: Alien Workshop in America

This article was published in the September 2011 issue of Thrasher, about two years after the masterpiece Mind Field was released. The team had gone through some changes ("axed the Scientologist and acquired two new ams") and the trip was a way to regroup after recovering from filming for the 2009 full-length. Ironically, two years later Jason Dill and AVE would depart to start Fucking Awesome, and the rest of the team would quickly disperse as well as The Workshop would be completely revamped.

This tour takes the 2011 team from the AWS home base of Dayton, Ohio, all the way through Pittsburgh, Richmond and Atlanta. Words by Dill and photos by Joe Brook.

Jumpboyz: Alien Workshop US Tour

This article was published in the May 2010 issue of The Skateboard Mag, with words by Jason Dill and photos by Rodent. The title comes from the team being bitten by the "jump bug" at the beginning of the trip, steering them to different cliffs and bridges along the way where they could get their next thrill. Thanks to the person on the SLAP forum who asked for this one, for inspiring me to find & scan it.

Road To The Midnight Sun

This is a brief photo feature of a Nike trip through Europe, published in the December 2008 issue of The Skateboard Mag. Photos by Jon Humphries - he also wrote a fairly inspirational intro.

Hey There, Hot Stuff: Nike Ams Discover Vixens In Amsterdam

Andy Henrie's write-up of this Nike am trip to Amsterdam features a story about meeting an eccentric family during the trip, which maybe doesn't age so well. Product of its time. Ah well, at least the Ryan Flynn photos are really sick! This article appeared in the January 2009 issue of Skateboarder, and Justin Brock was on the cover with a photo from this same trip.

Behind The Mind's Eye: Greg Hunt interview

This is the second of three features within the April 2009 issue of Transworld that focus on the people around the making of Alien Workshop's 2009 Mind Field video. It gives a great behind-the-scenes look on the making of one of the most influential skate videos of the 2000s. Words and photos by Mike O'Meally.

New Jack: Grant Taylor (re-scan)

The first scan of this interview was awful, so I'm reuploading new scans of it. Appears in the April 2009 issue of The Skateboard Mag, words by Mike Munzenrider. Grant also had a full interview in and was on the cover of the same month's issue of Skateboarder, which I posted here.

Volcom's Let’s Live US Tour

This article appears in the February 2008 issue of Skateboarder, which means that the tour happened sometime in 2007. Aside from the infamous Dustin Dollin cheese grater slam in Denver, there are a lot of other goodies in this one - young Chima and Grant Taylor, Lewis Marnell, Jake Duncombe absolutely ripping, and more. Photos were taken by Andrew Mapstone, words by Steve Stratton.
