Out Of Nowhere: January 2005 Dennis Durrant feature

This article was written by Lee Dupont and describes the first time that he & the C1rca team met Dennis Durrant during a trip to Australia. Initially assuming that he would be an international team rider awkwardly made to skate with the rest of the brand's main (US) team, Lee & the rest of the team's minds were quickly changed when they saw how good Dennis was. Ryan Allan's photos in this article demonstrate that; all of the tricks Dennis is doing are still pretty sick, even for 2023 standards. I'm assuming that this was the first time he was in a US skateboarding magazine?

RIP Pepe Martinez

20 years ago today. RIP. Thoughts to his family and friends who are still grieving his loss. Words by Aaron Meza and photos by Ken Goto and Ben Colen.

Kevin Spanky Long - October 2005 TSM Interview

In this interview which was published about a year before Baker 3 came out, Spanky talks about filming for the video, his love of bowling, and acting in commercials as a little kid. Words by Paul Zitzer and photos by Atiba.

One of my first posts on this blog was this interview, but it was back when I was still figuring out my scanner, and there's a lot of glare and cropping issues.

Down To The Future: 88 Footwear tour aticle

This article, written by Lance Conklin and photographed by Andrew Mapstone, documents an 88 Footwear trip through Australia. A still from Peter Hewitt's fullpipe carve sequence at the end also appears on the cover of this issue.

Corey Duffel's Fallen ad

This is the Corey Duffel Intro to Fallen ad that accidentally ran in the October 2005 issue of The Skateboard Mag. There were talks for Corey to be on the team, but negotiations didn't get very far and Corey joined another shoe brand instead (I believe it was Osiris). However, the staff at TSM forgot to pull the previously-planned ad, and it went to print. Interestingly, Corey also made an appearance in an 88 Footwear tour article in this same issue.

Things Fall Apart: Three Weeks in Europe with Cairo Foster and The Butcher

This 16-page feature published in the November 2003 issue of Skateboarder documents a three-week trip that Cairo Foster and Diego "The Butcher" Bucchieri took through parts of Switzerland, France and Spain, with some fellow skaters from the region joining them along the way. There are photos from spots in Geneva, Lyon, Barcelona, Málaga, Alicante, and Elche in this article - a nice spread of European skater-friendly architecture. Words and photos by Mike O'Meally.

Sikh And Destroy: April 2010 Guru Khalsa interview

Guru Khalsa's part in Origin is one of my favorite video parts to watch. Guru is locked into every grind and slide, his flip tricks are all done impeccably, and his trick selection is superb - a good selection of switch, handrails, ledges, and gaps. This interview features photos of tricks from that part and his Pro Debut part, and the conversation he has with Christian Senrud about his Sikh identity is interesting and not something you'd expect to read in a skateboarder interview. Photos by Jonathan Mehring.

Bombing The Andes

This April 2010 Skateboarder article by Ian O'Connor covers a trip he and an assorted crew of skaters took from Chile, across the Andes, and into Argentina. It's 14 magazine pages of photos of creative skaters getting tricks on not-often-seen spots - the types of articles Skateboarder featured regularly.

Bombs Away: City in London

A short 6-page article featuring some photos from the 2006 City Skateboards team and a bit of commentary about their favorite things they encountered during their trip. Featured in the March 2006 issue of The Skateboard Mag. Words by Alex Klein and photos by Jeff Landi.

Divulge: Shiloh Greathouse

Shiloh Greathouse's Divulge interview, from the November/December 2001 issue of Skateboarder. Words by Mackenzie Eisenhour and photos by Seu Trinh.

Ed Selego interview - June 2009

The main feature of the June 2009 issue of Skateboarder is a 10-page interview with MIA Skate Shop co-founder Ed Selego, who also had the cover of this issue. Words by Christian Senrud and photos by John Bradford, Ian O'Connor and Ken Goto.
