This short article in the November 2002 issue of Skateboarder documents a trip that the Alien Workshop, Habitat & Seek Skateboards teams (get it, "Tri"-[Sovereign] Sect" took from California to the home base of Dayton, Ohio. Two photos that stand out to me in this are Alex Carolino's backside nosegrind revert on the famous Fort Street rail in Detroit that Justin Bohl recently saved, and Stefan Janoski's backside tailslide on a rail a couple of miles away from the house I grew up in. Words and photos by Mike O'Meally.

The Emerica Mansion
Written by Aaron Meza, this November 2002 Skateboarder feature gives a brief glimpse into the Emerica Mansion and the skaters who lived in it. This article is a great companion piece to the ON Video segment about it, which came out around the same time as this magazine, as well as the 2018 Jenkem interview with Justin Regan. Portraits were taken by Bethany Black. Skate photo credit is with each photo. There's also a photo sequence in the Contents of Jim Greco getting a trick in the backyard, which I included in here as well.
Emerica team photo ads, from 2002 to 2009
It's really interesting to see these pictures as the years go by: who stays and who leaves, seeing the young guys grow up, etc. All of these were taken from the back covers of Skateboarder issues, which means that there may be more Emerica team photos out there that I don't have or didn't find yet. Send them my way if you find some.

Nike's "First Sponsor" ad series
This was a pretty interesting ad series that Nike ran for 5 continuous months, from September 2002 to January 2003. These ads I scanned were in Skateboarder; I am assuming that they appeared in other magazines as well, though. I only have Skateboarder issues from this time period.
Also, I can't say with 100% certainty that these were the only ones that they did. I checked in the issues immediately before and after these five months and didn't see any, but that doesn't mean that they didn't extend the ad campaign for a different magazine.
It looks like Todd Jordan got photo credit for all of these ads. I wonder if it was his idea to do this series?
