Two 2003 AVE tricks on AVE's bench

Here are two AVE sequences I found in two different 2003 issues of SLAP, taken from the same exact angle on the same spot. The switch back nosegrind revert is from February 2003, and the switch front crook fakie flip out is from the October 2003 issue. Both sequences were taken by Lance Dawes.

Skaters & Drugs

A very interesting article from the February 2003 issue of Skateboarder, compiled by Mackenzie Eisenhour. In his words: "This article is a compilation of what some of skateboarding's most outspoken participants had to say about drugs."

I am not uploading this with the intent of calling someone out or embarrassing anyone. Alcohol and drug use is an ongoing topic in skateboarding (Thrasher did an article about it a year or so ago) and I think it's important and interesting to see what the skaters we grow up looking up to think about it.

The Jason Dill interview - February 2003 Skateboarder

I think I have said this before, but the combination of Dill's skating and his personality always made for great interviews in magazines. The fakie 5-0, the back tail... excellent. One of the first photos to blow up on my Instagram account was a phone scan of the backside flip over the Sants bench. And was he the first skater to get a "Cult Of" page dedicated to him?? Anyways, it's a great read.

Dill also got the cover for this same issue. It is posted after the interview below.
