The Jim Greco Interview - September 2005 Thrasher

In this interview, Jim talks about trying out for Plan B in the mid-90s, skating for Birdhouse and Zero, and getting clean from drugs and alcohol. According to this interview, he got sober on July 30, 2002, so I'm posting this on the 20th anniversary of his sobriety. Congrats to Greco on that and for steadily ripping for 25+ years now.

Words and photos by Mike Burnett, unless otherwise noted.

Greco also got a sequence in the Contents section of this issue. Photo credit goes to someone named "Video Bill"?

The Ben Raybourn interview - March 2013 Thrasher

When I first saw this interview, I thought that Ben was going to get the 2013 Thrasher Skater of the Year award. Every trick in this interview is really gnarly, and he also had the cover with an Indy air off the top and into the largest wall at Burnside (posted below). Most of the tricks appeared in his New Ground and Raybourn Identity parts from that same year. Two full parts, a cover and a feature interview in the mag. I thought he had it in the bag.

Ishod Wair ended up getting the award, and deservedly so because he also had a mind-blowing year of content. But I still think it would have also been a good decision if Ben Raybourn had gotten SOTY.

The interview and photos for the interview were done by Rhino, except Burnett took the portrait of Ben with his dyed hair.

Two ads with him that also appear in this issue. No photo credit given for either.

Zero & Mystery European Tour 2005 - September 2005 Thrasher

Joey "Shigeo" Muellner's documentation of Zero and Mystery touring Europe in 2005. The Ryan Smith photos in this are sick. Also, New Blood had come up in April of 2005 and they were already working on Ride The Sky; Chris Cole's switch backside flip and switch frontside 360 kickflip at Le Dome both appear in his part in that video. It's a testament to how on-fire he was at this moment in time.

Fourstar in Japan - September 2005 Thrasher

Out of all of the memorable videos to come out of Crailtap, Super Champion Funzone is probably the most beloved. It documents Fourstar's 2005 tour in Japan and is full of antics and excellent skating from Mark Gonzales, Mike Carroll, Max Schaaf, Rick Howard, and more. Below is the article in Thrasher that the tour produced. Words by Sam Smyth and photos by Gabe Morford.

Rickk also got the cover of this issue.

Heads: Og de Souza

Og de Souza's Heads interview from the September 2005 issue of Thrasher. Words and photos by Dan Bourqui. His video part from 411vm #64 is really good and I know I've come across pictures of some of the tricks from that part, but I cannot remember which magazine they were in. Og tells a gnarly story in this interview about an injury he'd sustained to one of his fingers while skating.

Zero's Wet Hot American Summer tour - January 2011 Transworld

A brief article covering Zero's 2010 w.h.a.s. tour. Words by John Rattray and photos by Shigeo. Sad that there aren't any photos of Elissa.
