One of my favorite features that The Skateboard Mag had were the Curtain Call interviews. Here is Guy Mariano's for Fully Flared, which was also the first Curtain Call ever done for the magazine. As told to Paul Zitzer, photo sequence by Jeff Landi.

This is Ray Barbee's Milestone feature from the June 2010 issue of The Skateboard Mag, for which he was also on the cover of. Anthony Acosta shot all of the photos, and Rob Brink conducted the interview.

A short Matt Bennett interview from the June 2010 issue of The Skateboard Mag. Words by Paul Zitzer and photos by Rodent. I always like how Matt's switch skating looks.

No Matter What: 2006 Lakai US Tour

Milestone: Stefan Janoski
A piece about Stefan Janoski put together by Mike Munzenrider, with photos by Jeff Landi. Mike & Stefan talk about growing up in Vacaville, growing up skating in San Francisco, and why he likes living in Sacremento. I also included the switch flip crooks on a handrail ad, which I remember blowing a lot of minds at the time it came out.

Question Mark: Massimo Cavedoni
A short but sweet feature for Massimo in the December 2007 issue of The Skateboard Mag. Words by Paul Zitzer and photos by Anthony Acosta.
My Senior Thesis Paper about Skate Videos
For my senior thesis project for my Bachelor's degree, I wrote a 27-page essay where I applied academic media & cultural theories to skate videos and skateboarding culture. Even though some parts of it need to be updated and the grammar could be improved (what should I expect - I wrote it over the course of six days and only did one draft), it is the thing I am most proud of producing from my college education. For research, I pored through so many of the magazines that I had in my collection at the time and clicked through the pages of Jenkem and other online publications. I even found an article (which I didn't end up using) on the chromeball incident, after combing through that blog. It was so much fun to write, and is really interesting to read now and see how things have changed since then.
I've been considering scanning and posting this for a few years now, and I figure that now is as good of a time as ever to do so. Thank you to everyone who encouraged me! If you love it, hate it, think I completely missed the point of something, or are upset at how harsh my evaluation of Nothing But The Truth was, please let me know either in the comments here or in an Instagram DM. I am genuinely interested in what you think of it.
Thank you for reading.
